Sensei Tommy Hood is owner and head instructor of Carolina Karate & Fitness Center. Sensei Hood is a 5th degree black belt in Okinawan Shuri-Ryu Karate with 24 years of experience. Formerly an instructor for the Columbia School of Karate-do, Mr. Hood has over 15 years of teaching experience. Sensei Hood also holds an International Instructors License for Shuri-Ryu Karate. As a member of the US National Karate team for 14 years he has traveled around the world competing at the highest level. During his time on the US team, Mr. Hood was awarded USOC Athlete of the Year three times by the USOC (US Olympic Committee) and was US National Champion ten times. Currently Tommy Hood is a coach for the USA National Karate Federation sanctioned by the USOC.
